IYH arrived at Georgia King Village in Newark, NJ around noon this past Saturday to distribute 150 backpacks to the children in this community. The families and children were ready to sign up for their free back pack full of school supplies to start their 2018-2019 school year with the necessary materials.
The event was a very inspiring event, the families and children were very happy and thankful for their back pack, they signed up at our tent and at 3:00 lined up with their tickets to claim their back pack. The faces, reactions and smiles of the children were priceless. As always we thank all of our supporters, special thanks to Hapag-Lloyd for organizing the school drive and collecting a lot of supplies, thank you to whomever took their time to place orders online , or donated money so we could complete all of the 150 back packs with the supplies. Thank you to everyone who came to help us put them together as well as distributing them. Enjoy the pictures, they are priceless and speak for themselves.

Build-a-libray project is officially completed and we are thrilled with the result, but most importantly the children at agape home now have a beautiful place to do homework, or read a book.
in your hands arrived at chiang mai, thailand on monday july 9th and met "avis", the owner. Avis took us shopping for bookshelves, paint, brushes, and everything we needed to accondition the room and make it inviting for the children. During the next couple of days, We cleaned and painted and designed a beaUtiful room for the children, despite the fact that it was 90 degrees or above and no air conditioning, we managed to design an inviting space where the children can do their homework or sit and read a book. On the last day we organized more than 3000 books in the brand new book shelves and when finished, invited the kids inside to see their new room. we read books with them and provided snacks and drinks, their beautiful smiles made every drop of sweat all worth it. It was a beautiful experience!!! Thank you to everyone who supported us and made this project possible. On Saturday July 14th, In Your Hands joined “First Baptist Church in New Brunswick” on a community day to celebrate the completion of the children Bible studies. In Your Hands provided toys and gently used clothing for the children and their families. Ednroa Chacon (Yaya) Board member was the lead of the project and the families expressed their gratitude to her immensely, families were thrilled when they realized all of the items were free and they could take whatever they needed. Thank you to everyone who donated toys and clothes, and for always supporting In Your Hands causes.
IN Your Hands once again has comitted to help "CITY hope ministers" in their effort to donate book bags to elementary school children in the community of south newark, NJ. Last year we were able to collect supplies and book bags for over 100 children, this year our goal is 150 to 200 book bags; please help us reach this goal.
We are looking for notebooks, folders, pen, pencils, rulers, erasers, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, loose leaf paper, tissues and off course book bags. Any donation you can contribute will be greatly appreciated. In Your Hands Foundation would not be able to do these projects without donations from individuals like you. Donations help sustain organizations and benefit the communities around us and around the world. This past April 28th, In Your Hands hosted their first "Tricky Tray" fundraiser and it was a huge success. despite the strong winds and rain, our supporters said "present". we spent an evening eating an amazing selection of mini sandwiches and imported cheeses donated by the Shop Rite of Clinton, drinking a variety of juices donated by Tropicana, and snacking over different kind of chips and pretzels donated by HERR's. Our event was amazing, and the funds raised will help us with several of our projects, "Build-A-library" at Agape HOME being the most immediate one. special thanks to Trader joe's of westfield for donating a bag full of goodies, this was well received by the winner; skill success, picaboo, and travel-Set-go for the donation of certificates. Thank you everyone for supporting our mission and helping us reach many more children. We are soooo excited to let you know IYH more than quadrupled the goal of 1000 books collected for the Children of Agape Home. We collected 4420 books in our book drive during the month of March.
We met last Monday with friends, family and colleagues from Pfizer who volunteered for more than 6 hours to organized the books by categories (baby books, picture books and chapter books), despite the weather we had an amazing response of volunteers. We wrote and signed personal notes to insert in each book so the kids can read when they open the books. This past Saturday, 10 boxes full of books were taken to Queens to a freight forwarder who will be shipping the books to Thailand. They soon will start the journey to Chiang Mai, and are supposed to arrive beginning of June. We will like to thank everyone who helped during this book drive either by donating books, helping count and recording the progress, organizing them , boxing them or transporting them to where they were needed. None of it would have been possible without you. Special thanks to Hapag Lloyd for allowing us to run a book drive in their office, to JK Golden Associates for donating more than 200 brand new books , to all of the colleagues from Pfizer for giving us their time. In your Hands foundation is having a fun event to raise funds for "Build a Library" at Agape Home. The event will be hosted on April 28th. Please see details below. In Your Hands Foundation is looking for sponsors for the 2018 Build-A-Library project for “Agape Home” Orphanage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is an orphanage where more than 100 kids infected with the virus of HIV/Aids live. Avis, the owner, does an amazing job giving these children a meaningful and loving life, and In Your Hands would like to help establish a library so the children have a comfortable place to do homework or read a book.
Melissa, our founder, holds this orphanage very dear to her heart. sHe visited "AGAPE HOME" during the summer of 2016 and it was a life changing experience. Avis, the owner of Agape Home inspired Melissa to open a foundation and help children's lives. this is the reason why "In Your Hands Foundation" was established. Melissa promised Avis she would go back to help her at a bigger scale, so this year Melissa is going back and is planning to establish a library. We are asking for everyone's support either with monetary donations so we can buy and ship the furniture, or in kind Donations of new or gently used children’s books. The books can be story tellers, series or interactive subject books. Our goal is to collect 1000 books by the end of March. Please spread the word and help us reach our goal. for more information on "agape Home", please visit http://www.nikkisplace.org/ see bellow's plan of the project: . This past December 5th, In your hands received a last minute donation from hapag Lloyd. we were able to pack 20 individual meals and drove to downtown New Brunswick to deliver them to homeless people. it was a rainy day, but we managed to feed 20 people with a nice warm meal. It was a very emotional night as we found a group of homeless men singing Christmas carols, and very thankful to receive a warm meal in a cold rainy day. Thank you Hapag Lloyd for the donation. December 8th was a fun and fulfilling day. In your hands hosted a winter wonderland party for more than 50 kids and their families at the "First Baptist church" in new Brunswick, nj.
The kids and their families were able to enjoy delicious food, drinks and snacks. They played, danced and each received a toy. It was amazing to share these time with them and see first hand their beautiful smiles. Thank you to all of the members who came that night, to help make this night a magical one. On November 11th and 12th we had the amazing opportunity to visit the island of Puerto rico. we volunteered at "hogar de niñas de cupey" , an orphanage with 21 girls who are victims of abused. This orphanage is run by a congregation of sisters from "Amistad misionera en cristo obrero (AMICO)". we helped olga, the director of events clean up the gym area so the girls could enjoy a thanksgiving dinner organized by another organization. we were fortunate to be able to participate and play with the girls as well as give them a Christmas stocking "In your hands foundation" prepared with love. The girls were very happy. we handed olga a monetary donation that will help this amazing home with some expenses to continue to do the amazing work they are doing with the girls. On Nov 12th we drove to the center of the island where the hurricane hit with winds of 175 miles per hour. we visited three families and gave them a monetary donation as well as supplies. these families were so thankful. The first family is an older man who spent the entire hurricane inside his car because his house was completely destroyed in matter of hours. The second family consisted of a couple and their son. They lost the roof of their house, and now they are using a blue tarp in the meantime, the government has not given them any assistance yet. The third family of a husband, wife and two kids are counting their blessings because it is a miracle they are alive. their house was taken away by a mud slide and they were able to escape un harm. We thank every person who donated money or supplies, without you we would have not been able to accomplish such an amazing project. In Your hands foundation 1st anniversary charity dinner was a success. we had more than 85 guests who came to support our mission and to celebrate with us an incredible 1st year. Our president/Founder, Melissa Lebron, welcome everyone and recap our projects this year as well as presented our planned projects for the year 2018. The board presented Certificates of appreciation to our most valuable supporters this year. Thank you for making this night of dreams come true. October 12th was the day in your hands foundation was invited to participate in the connections breakfast organized by wells fargo. one hundred non profit organizations got together at the Marriott hotel in Whippany, nj to receive a $1000 grant. we were able to connect with other organizations over a delicious breakfast.

In your hands is collecting Items for our brothers and sisters in Venezuela.
the situation in Venezuela is becoming dire, and one of the biggest issues is the scarcity of food and basic needs. many people have to wait long hours in a line, just to receive a small portion of a basic goods such as flour, sugar, toiletries, toothpaste, medical supplies , and other necessity items and food. unfortunately the supplies run out fast due to the extreme scarcity, so even those waiting in the long lines often do not receive the vital supplies they need for everyday life. amidst the crisis, children are being affected the most. The lock of food , medical supplies, clothes and other basic necessities makes it nearly impossible for children and their families to grow up in these living conditions. in your hands will like to help and like any other project we need your support. Please reach out to one of the members if you wish to donate. We are collecting clothing, canned foods, school supplies, toiletries (toilet paper, razors, tooth paste, tooth brushes, etc). Your support will help enormously. We will be collecting until July 30th. please see below video to have an idea of what the people in Venezuela is going through. Back on July 6th, Isabella Aguilar, one of our members traveled to Colombia to donate 40 desks and school supplies to a school in need. In your hands foundation together with family and friends donated the 40 desks and school kits to the 5th grade students of school "purificacion Trujillo" .
The condition of the desks which some were 25 years old or older was terrible. The students expressed their gratitude with a series of events which included singing and dancing as well as with several posters full of kind words, but according to Isabella the big smiles of the children's face was more than enough to express their happiness and the immeasurable gratitude. you can read the article presented to In your hands by "el pais" , the main newspaper in Colombia.
